Residential and Commercial Services:
The Black Hills are beautiful but they can deliver some harsh winters. Don’t wait until the snow falls to secure your snow removal contract for the season. We are located in Spearfish but we’ll also service Whitewood, Belle Fourche, Deadwood, Lead, and Sturgis.
Contact us to discuss what type of service works best for your family’s budget or your business’ budget and your customers. We offer three different types of contracts for commercial snow removal:
1. Hourly rate
Under this contract, you pay by the hour for snow removal services. Because every job will be different, we will custom bid the hourly rate for your home or business. It will depend on what equipment is required, how much time will be spent plowing, scooping, and de-icing (if requested). This option still allows you to get on our schedule for prompt service whenever the snow flies.
2. Pay Per “Snow Event”
Under this contract, you pay for snow removal services if and when the snow falls. If there’s no snow, clients are not billed. But if the snow flies, our crews are on call once accumulation is 1 inch or 2 inches (you determine the “trigger”).
At TOPGUN, we structure the per-event pricing based on snow depth. There’s a price per event for 1 to 5 inches, 6 to 10 inches and more than 10 inches of snow.
That’s because we know that our team will spend a lot more time clearing 6 inches of snow from a driveway or retail parking lot than 2 inches. The snow is heavier, and there’s more of it to maneuver around the property.
When it comes to commercial contracts, response time is critical in this industry because customers need access to your business. So we always aim to clear snow sooner rather than later. We don’t want the snow to build up on your property. Big storms will require multiple pushes per property to ensure it stays clear and safe. As the business owner or manager, you will help determine when and how often we remove snow during a big storm.
For residential contracts, you will determine how urgent your snow removal needs are. If you have to leave for work at 7:30 every day, we’ll make it happen. If you have some flexibility in your day, you’ll save a little money on your contract.
3. Seasonal contract (1- to 3-year agreement)
Our seasonal contracts include a fixed price per season for snow removal services, and the contracts are active for six months in South Dakota (October 15th through April 15th). The trigger is 1 inch or 2 inches, your choice.
During one winter, we may get 12 snow events in the Black Hills. Or we could have 25 (like last year). Over the period of a few years, the snow events per year average out. For this reason, we find that a multi-year contract give clients the best value. Our season contract assumes there will be approximately 17 snow events, and we’ll calculate your price accordingly. If there are less than 9 events, you will receive a pro-rated refund. If there are more than 25, TOPGUN will begin charging per additional snow event. But typically, you can expect to stay within that range.
The constant price is what property managers, business owners, and budget-conscious heads-of-the-household love about seasonal contracts. They don’t have to worry about snow removal costs fluctuating for half the year. The bill is always the same. You pay for half your contract October 15th and the other half January 15th.
A seasonal contract is ideal for budget-conscious clients who recognize that the TOPGUN team will be on the property to plow snow once accumulation reaches your “trigger” depth, and your budget stays right on track.
These can be part of your contract or delivered as-needed.
Anti-icing, pre-treatment, and de-icing: This is done with a liquid chemical that melts ice at lower temperatures and prevents it from forming.
Salting: This lowers the freezing/melting point of water, aiding in the melting of ice on roads and sidewalks.
Snow hauling: If you don’t have a lot of room on your property to pile snow, we can haul it away for you.
